Rome Chamber of Commerce

Rome is the audiovisual capital of Italy, with the highest concentration of businessess in the entire sector. In terms of production , it's a powerhouse and an industry hub for Italy's top companies and for a remarkable number of small businesses and artisans as well. As part of its strategy to promote local production networks, the Rome Chamber of Commerce pays close attention to the sector, specifically the area of TV series and films made for television, an area with enormous potential that also offers economic spin-offs for related sectors such as tourism. In recent years, the effects of the economic crisis, clearly seen in the shrinking advertising market and stagnating investments, have certanly hurt the small businesses in the audiovisual sector, already struggling with long-standing problems such as undercapitalization and limited access to credit. Relaunching the audiovisual sector necessarily involves a concerted effort on the part of local institutions, one that is aimed at promoting the creation of new networks and new productions with a high-technology content, on the one hand, and on the other, strenghtening the local players by radically transforming the companies through innovative assets, professional competences and the securing of new markets. With these goal in mind, the Rome Chamber of Commerce is once again supporting the RomaFictionFest this year, now at the tenth edition, through its own contribution to the Fondazione Cinema per Roma. The event represents an excellent opportunity to introduce Italy's audiovisual work sto professionals from other countries, facilitating co-productions and international ties between industry professionals. Over the years, we have seen first-hand that the presence of world-class producers and showrunners at the RomaFictionFest has been extremely beneficial to the businesses in our sector. It is our hope that this event, the only one of its kind in Italy, will go from strenght on the international level.
