The Italian Red Cross between Fiction and Reality
Fiction often lends its voice to reality. This is true of the Red Cross Carpet, to be held Friday November 13th at the Cinema Adriano movie theatre as part of the Roma Fiction Fest. That reality in this case is solidarity, and it carries the name of one of the most important of humanitarian organizations, the Italian Red Cross. During the event there will be a presentation of two new institutional videos made to launch the campaign in which the Red Cross will demonstrate that its work is no longer limited to health care, but that it now operates in all areas of solidarity and humanitarian protection. The two commercials are conceived for two distinct targets and the language used in each of them diverges considerably one from the other. The first more institutional video stands in contrast with the second more dynamic, addressed to younger audiences. During the event, there will also be a screening of a clip from the miniseries "Lampedusa" to be released in 2016, which was shot with the participation of the Italian Red Cross in Lampedusa and in the province of Rome. It will be presented by Marco Pontecorvo, the director of the miniseries. Guests of the evening will be many of the Red Cross's institutional partners, who have contributed in a significant and substantial way to assisting migrants, in activities that involve hundreds of volunteers across Italy.
